    Description

Up for your consideration is a extremely scarce Gary Grimshaw concert poster from 1967 November 24-25 at the Grande Ballroom in Detroit Michigan featuring MC5, THE FUGS, THE GANG, and  ASHMOLLYAN QUINTET.
    APPROXIMATE SIZE : 22  1/8" X 15  1/8"
Lets just jump right into condition.
This poster still exhibits bright, vibrant, outstanding color. As you can clearly see, this poster was hung at some point. Please view photos to see all tack holes/damage on corners. A portion of the bottom left corner is missing (see pic). There are two tack holes approx. at top center, and five tack holes approx. at bottom center. These tack holes at top and bottom center are not really noticeable.
The left and right edges show ink bleed over from the printing process. There is very little foreign staining on the front. The most notable would be the area in between the words "Grande Ballroom", there is a non obscene splatter stain.
There is some extremely light creasing at the center right edge area near the words "NOV 25". It looks much worse in that same area on the back than it does on the front. It's not really noticeable on the front.
On Ed Sanders mouth/cheek area, there is a small tear/puncture (see last pic). This puncture is fully intact and shows no signs of getting worse. The puncture is in the shape of a crescent moon....like a flap. When framed, this area of concern is hardly noticeable and can be repaired quite easily if one were inclined to do so.
The back shows discoloration, stains, and tape residue (see pics).
Overall, with the condition issues, this poster exibits outstanding color and was fairly well taken care of despite its damage. The color is outstanding!!
This poster is extremely difficult to come across. It has it all!...excellent color, a early Grande Ballroom event (1967), Gary Grimshaw artwork, and MC5.
I've searched the internet extensively to try and find a comparable of this poster. I could not find a single one.The only thing I was able to find was a hand bill / postcard of this gig in much worse condition.
This will be shipped rolled up in a poster tube.
