This listing features a VINTAGE poster which was created to promote a concert which took place on January 23rd, 1969 at the Fillmore Auditorium in San Francisco. The show was headlined by Iron Butterfly and The James Cotton Blues Band.
The poster represents the 157th image from the iconic Bill Graham series and is commonly referred to as BG-157 or BG-157-OP-1. Its in incredible shape! Its hard to believe that this example is over 50 years old! Rest assured...its legit!
The poster offered here was only printed
once
before the concert. It measures 14" x 21" in size. The gorgeous artwork was done by legendary artist,  Lee Conklin. The Sphinx, rendered Conklin-style, promoted Iron Butterfly and James Cotton at the Fillmore West.
The vintage poster offered here is guaranteed to be in NEAR MINT PLUS or better condition! This gorgeous poster STILL looks like it did when printed over 50 years ago! Finding the poster in this condition is especially difficult! It was a relatively small print run to begin with. And most people in the 1960s simply DID NOT take care of their concert posters!
Many of the posters from the 1960's were hung on dorm room walls and/or telephone poles. This is a BIG reason why it's so difficult to find this poster in NM+ to MINT condition!
